Week Three Part 6
I hung out at FD Toys for awhile and fiddled around a bit at this site. I also took a peek at the map enhancement feature but was not all that impressed. There's probably people out there who will find a business application for such things, like highlighting a library branch location for potential library patrons excluding of course, those who are color blind or maybe the blind guy selling pencils down on the corner, ya know the one wearing the dark glasses who thinks he's Ray Charles.

Too Much Time On Their Hands
Gotta say....Frankly I have little or no use for trivial pursuits such as this. I am going through the motions of learning the basics of blogging but it holds absolutely no fascination or allure. If I have anything I want strangers to know, I'd tell them myself not leave little notes hither and thither on this subject or that. It's not a matter of unfamiliarity or personal contempt for technology--I'm just walking away from it as it is of no importance or relevance to my circumstance. Total abrogation of the basic tenets of privacy. Kinda like carrying around a phone or pager---why would anyone want to be available every minute of the day, at the beck and call of everyone with your contact number? It's the mark of the beast as far as I'm concerned, and anyone who suscribes to such nonsense is tacitly admitting their willingness to toss away their liberty merely to gain a bit of convenience in their lives. Now, people say, "What would you do if your car broke down beside the road?" I say, "Same thing I always do--fix the damn thing or start walking." Here's the easiest way for me to explain how I feel about such useless appurtenances--tell me--do you honestly believe that John Wayne would have checked his pager or carried a cell phone when he rode off into the sunset to catch the bad guys? Like Sam Elliott sez in 'Conagher' --"Any man who has to ask for help shouldn't have set out in the first place." My two cents worth.....
